The Parents Association/Va'ad Horim is a volunteer membership organization of Gross Schechter Day School parents. Its leadership is comprised of a board of directors and committee chairs who are nominated and elected at the end of each school year. The entire Schechter community is encouraged to submit nominations for serious consideration. The primary goal of the Parents Association is to enhance and enrich the overall educational experiences of our children, parents and staff. We encourage you to join the Va'ad/PTO and show your support for the school and, most importantly, the students.
Va'ad contributions to the school support the following activities: Annual Schechter Shabbat Teacher Appreciation Field Trip Stipends B’nai Mitzvah/Graduation Gifts Yom Ha’Atzmaut Programming Math/Science Night Art of Personal Living Class End of the Year Entertainment ▲ back to menu ▲
The Va'ad/PTO raises funds for the school in several ways: Membership dues Gala fundraising event School Directory (Schechter Connector) Coming Fall 2008! Mishaloch manot (Purim gift bags and greetings) To Volunteer Scholastic Book Fair Box Tops for Education Va'ad Affiliate Marketing Programs
Donations may also be made to any of the following funds in honor or memory of family and friends and to honor a teacher. Volunteers make all the difference! Research has shown that parents who are more involved in their children’s school have more successful students. It is the dedication of our many volunteers that makes our Parents Association/Va’ad Horim programs possible.
