Parents Association/Va'ad Horim
Gross Schechter Day School's Parents Association/Va'ad Horim is committed to continuing to support our students, parents, faculty and staff by organizing activities and providing services that enhance our sense of community and school spirit.
Volunteers are working hard to plan activities and provide services such as our weekly challah delivery; lifecycle event assistance; and our Purim Mishloach Manot (gift basket and greetings) program. Our Parent Education Committee brings speakers to the school who lead discussions on parenting topics. To add to our school spirit we have fun activities during the year such as the back to school brunch, Schechter Shabbat, Sukkot picnic, and much, much more! Visit our volunteering page for a complete list of volunteer activities.
The Parents Association supports the school in many other ways:
- B'nai Mitzvah/Graduation Gifts
- Room Parents
- Science Day
- Life Cycle Participation
- Teacher Gift Program
- The Schechter Connector School Directory
- Scholastic Book Fair
- Staff Appreciation
- Mentor Family Program
These activities and services cannot happen without your participation and support! GET INVOLVED! Volunteering is a great way for parents to get connected to the school and our community. This is an invitation to share in your child’s school experience.
There are many opportunities to get involved, big and small no matter what your availability is. Join us on Friday mornings to distribute challah, in February to assemble mishloach manot baskets, or become your child’s room parent. Volunteer to make phone calls or send emails, spend a few hours distributing candles or gift wrap, or a day helping out with the picnic.
Parents Association/Va'ad Horim always looking for new ways to get people involved. Please share your ideas and expertise with us! And become a member -- annual membership dues are $18 per family.
We offer something for everyone! Questions, ideas or comments? Email Peggy Sullivan Bloom.
Donations may also be made to any of the following funds in honor or memory of family and friends and to honor a teacher.
