We have a rolling admission policy. We accept applications throughout the school year. The procedure for admission is slightly different depending on whether you are applying to our preschool or to kindergarten through grade 8. Please select the application that is appropriate for your child.

Preschool Admission Procedure

We offer classes for students from two years old (by December 30^th of the entry year) to four years old (by September 30^th of the entry year). Applications are accepted on a first come basis. All applications must be received together with a $75 non-refundable application fee.  Acceptances are offered on a space  available basis. If we have no space  availabile in the grade when you apply,  we will place your child’s name on a waiting list.

Once we receive your application form and application fee, your child will be invited to visit the school and see the classroom in action. This will give us the opportunity to observe your child and determine the best placement.

Once your application is complete, your child has visited and the application fee received, we will notify you about our admission decision.

Kindergarten – Grade 8 Admission Procedure

Students who turn 5 years of age by September 30^th of their entry year to Schechter are eligible to apply to the kindergarten class. We accept applications for students entering grades 1 – 8 also. All students entering kindergarten through grade 8 will be required to go through a screening process.  Once we receive your application form and the application fee of $75 paid by clicking here, and the release of record form you will be contacted to setup an appointment to have your child screened.

Please advise your child’s current teacher to expect to receive a student evaluation form.

Once this process is completed we will invite your child to spend a morning/day at Schechter.

We will notify you know about the admission decision once the process has been completed.
