SunCamp Schechter 2010 Goes Green!

In the summer all growing things flourish and this includes children!

At Camp Schechter, any 2010/11 preschooler or kindergartner will experiment, explore, learn more about the environment, and have great summer fun!

The experience has been reshaped to bring an awareness of natural things and of the need for conservation. Teachers and counselors will educate campers on the importance of the word “recycle” as it concerns the wise use of natural materials in most crafts. Children will explore the relationship between natural things and the created object and come to know nature better while learning to use it in imaginative ways.

Camp Schechter activities include (but are not limited to):

  • the exploration of indoor and outdoor nature centers
  • nature hikes around campus
  • healthy cooking projects
  • water play
  • reading books about nature and the environment
  • planting and tending their own Camp Schechter Garden

Whether your child is a current or future Schechter student, or a member of the community, Camp Schechter is the place to be for a great summer experience!

Children need to be 3 years old by September 30, 2010 in order to attend Camp Schechter.
